We are Shiv & Michele. She’s easily amused and he’s mildly ridiculous. We call San Francisco home and get our kicks traveling the world. This, our first blog, was created to give family and friends a peek into our adventures around the world. Secretly, it also gives us a way to improve our CSS and photography skills.
The name chais and cheers is rooted in two rather ordinary things that perhaps we’ve found ourselves enjoying more than the average bird: drinking spicy chai tea lattes and raising a glass to our health and happiness. In fact, it’s become a little tradition of ours to learn how to say cheers in the local language of where we are traveling. It started during our first international trip to Japan. At a karaoke bar in Tokyo, we learned to say kanpai as we clinked our hi-ball glasses together just before the chorus of A Whole New World.
So here’s to more spicy chais and more hearty toasts: be it in San Francisco, Tokyo, or Chiang Mai.
